My name is Sarah Djarnie, and I am the founder and visionary behind Volta, a brand dedicated to preserving and celebrating the beauty, resilience, and diversity of the African experience throughout the diaspora. Each piece I create—whether a handcrafted doll, a unique work of art, or an intricately designed accessory—tells a story rooted in the rich cultural heritage and traditions of Africa and its global influence. Through Volta, I aim to honor the legacy of African artistry, inspire connection, and foster a sense of pride and belonging for those who share in this vibrant heritage.

At Volta, we embrace sustainability, craftsmanship, and storytelling to create meaningful, one-of-a-kind works that bridge history, culture, and identity. Every piece is thoughtfully designed using sustainably sourced linen, repurposed remnant materials, and traditional sewing techniques—honoring both the artisans of the past and a commitment to a more responsible future. Our mission is to inspire, educate, and uplift through art that reflects the strength, beauty, and transformation within the African Diaspora.

The name Volta is inspired by Lake Volta in Ghana, a symbol of life, movement, and interconnectedness. Our logo, the Adinkra symbol Owia A Repue, also known as the Rising Sun, represents progress, renewal, development, warmth, vitality, and energy—values that guide every creation and connection we make.

At Shop Volta, every stitch holds a story, every fabric choice reflects intention, and every creation is a tribute to the enduring spirit of African artistry and innovation
